Love Island’s Dr Alex George has announced his split from girlfriend Amelia Bath.
The couple confirmed their break up just days after they reunited – following months of being separated due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement on Instagram, Alex said: “Guys just want to let you know, Amelia and I have decided to go our separate ways.”
“As you know, we’ve been apart for most of lockdown which has been hard on us both and we both agree this is for the best.”

“We will remain good friends and I have nothing but respect for Amelia. Thank you for the love and support always,” he added.
Amelia shared a similar statement on her own Instagram page, and thanked fans for sending such kind messages.
Alex and Amelia had only reunited last Thursday, after spending 102 days apart while he worked on the NHS frontline in an A&E department.
Just two days before their reunion, Alex said he “couldn’t wait” to see Amelia after spending so long apart.
Sharing a throwback snap of them on Instagram, he wrote: “Can’t wait to go for dinner with this one ❤️ We have all waited so long to enjoy the simple things that make us happy in life.”
Alex and Amelia had been together since December 2018.
