Chad Michael Murray has shared his hope for another Cinderella Story and a role in Freaky Friday 2.
The 42-year-old reminisced about his past roles at the premiere of his new Netflix film, Mother of the Bride.
The former One Tree Hill star opened up about his excitement at the idea of returning to two of his most iconic roles from the early 2000s.
Freaky Friday was released in 2003 while A Cinderella Story came out in 2004.
The Hollywood heartthrob shared an adorable story of his daughter watching his old movies.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s been awesome and now my daughter saw A Cinderella Story and so that was a really interesting and fun moment.”
“She looked at me and she goes, ‘You need to make another one of those, Daddy.'”
Chad and his wife, Disturbia actress, Sarah Romer, tied the knot in 2015 and soon after welcomed their first child, a son.
Since then, they have added two daughters to their family, one in 2017 and another in August 2023.
The actor told ET that thanks to his daughter’s newfound love, he would gladly reprise his role as Austin Ames alongside his A Cinderella Story co-star, Hilary Duff.
“Here you go, Hil. From me to you, let’s do it,” Chad said, appealing to the actress.
Pitching a plot for the sequel, he said: “I think, as we know, things don’t always work out so I think they went their separate ways and we bring them back now, post splits from their significant others, into a new Cinderella story.”
The star was also asked whether his character Jake would be appearing in the confirmed Freaky Friday 2 film which is currently in the works.
Chad answered: “How great would that be? To bring Jake back? It’s one of those things where [it was] such a big part of my life,”
“I mean, that was one of the main reasons for doing Mother of the Bride is when Mark called, and I got to talk to Mark, and I said, ‘Mark, we’re gonna get the band back together. Let’s go.'”
