Earlier this year Ivan Yates announced plans to quit his media gigs, including his breakfast show on Newstalk and Sunday AM which he presents with Anna Daly.
And today, the veteran broadcaster bid farewell to his co-stars and viewers after presenting the show one final time.
Anna took to Twitter after the programme aired, to share a picture of Ivan with the cast and crew, likening his departure to Britain’s exit from the EU.

She tweeted: “Almost the full @SundayAMTV3 compliment for Ivan’s departure! We’ve had gas craic w/ Lord Yates! #BonVoyage #Yeaxit.”
And during the show, Anna joked that Ivan had “gone rogue” on his last day.
When TV3’s Southern Correspondent Paul Byrne tweeted: “The great Ivan Yates says goodbye to @SundayAMTV3 today. Just want him the best of luck & happiness in the future,”, Anna replied: “he has an hour left but he’s gone even more rogue than usual!!”
It's an emotional time @SundayAMTV3 Tune in for Ivan's last show! We'll miss his professionalism! 🙂 pic.twitter.com/pmXhr4rTuN

Anna previously admitted she was “in mourning” since Ivan announced his decision to quit.
“I texted him when I first heard and I said, ‘I get it. You love me but you’re not in love with me’, and he texted me back saying, ‘It’s not you, it’s me’,” she said.

In mourning: Anna Daly admitted she will miss her Sunday AM co-presenter Ivan Yates
“He’s just hilarious. He doesn’t give a hoot what he says. As a presenter I found him so generous,” she told the Herald.
“I’d never experienced someone with that kind of recklessness and that really entertained me.
“We’re used to everyone being so politically correct all the time.
I’m in mourning. I’ll really miss him. He’ll be a hard act to follow.”
