David Attenborough breaks world record by joining Instagram

The 94-year-old shared his first post on Thursday

David Attenborough has become the fastest person to reach a million followers on Instagram.

The record was previously held by Jennifer Aniston, who joined the platform last October.

The 94-year-old shared his first Instagram post on Thursday morning, and just four hours later, he reached a million followers.

The record was confirmed by a spokesperson for Guinness World Records, who told Metro.co.uk: “I am pleased to confirm this record has now been verified by us.”

In his first Instagram post, the natural historian said he was joining the platform because “the world is in trouble”.

David plans to use his account to share important messages about saving the planet, and tackling climate change.
