Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have explained why they’re still hosting This Morning, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The co-hosts returned to the ITV show earlier today, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced emergency lockdown measures for the UK last night.
The dynamic duo explained to their viewers that they have been branded “essential workers” during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Let’s start off by explaining probably for the first time ever, why we are here today,” Phil said.
‘We are here for you.’ ????@Schofe and @hollywills will be with you until 12:30 and we want to hear from you! If you’ve seen anything that has raised your spirits or if you have any concerns, let us know! #ThisMorning pic.twitter.com/dudP2rCCnB

“The government has classed us as essential workers for the time being, as we are here to answer your questions and inform you on what is happening,” Holly added.
Phil continued to describe the new working conditions they have implemented in the studio.
“We are working with a skeleton staff and for now on, with lots of people working from home,” he said.
Phil and Holly felt the need to explain their situation, after viewers complained about them hosting the show during lockdown.
