Kerry Katona’s ex-husband George Kay has died suddenly of a suspected drug overdose.
The former rugby league player passed away aged 39, and is reported to have a history of issues with drugs.
George is the father of Kerry’s youngest child, Dylan-Jorge, who is five. The couple announced their split in 2015, and formally divorced in 2017.
The athlete was found in his home and was rushed to hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A source close to Kerry told The Sun:
“Kerry was told this afternoon that George suffered an overdose and was taken to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.”
“Kerry is heartbroken, he’s DJ’s dad and she loved him once.”
“She can’t bear the thought of explaining to her daughter what has happened.”
Kerry has not released a formal statement since news of his death.
