Rap star Stormzy and presenter Maya Jama are reportedly back in touch.
The former couple, who split after four years, are said to be contacting one another again after Stormzy released his new track Lessons.
The song is an apology to Maya for his treatment of her during their relationship.
The former couple are said to be “texting,” with friends hoping that they might rekindle their relationship.
A source told The Sun: “He knew that he would bring their relationship centre stage again by releasing a track about it, and he felt it was right to reach out.”
“It was a public disrespect. It was a public disrespect that needed a public apology,” he said.
“That girl gave me the world. I will wholeheartedly say that’s a phenomenal woman that loved man wholeheartedly and was man’s everything.”
Maya is hotly tipped to replace Caroline Flack on the upcoming series of Winter Love Island.
