Ed Sheeran branded himself a “cripple” as he picked up a Q Award last night.
The Galway Girl singer was forced to postpone a number of upcoming tour dates, as he was hit by a car while cycling his bike last week – leaving him with a fractured elbow and broken rib.
Last night, Ed picked up the Q Award for the Best Act in the World, and told the crowd, “Thank you, I’m a bit of a cripple today.”
According to the Press Association, Ed told reporters that he didn’t want to let his fans down after suffering his injury.

“It’s not ideal, I can’t really do anything can I?” he said. “I’m a one man show…I don’t have a band it’s just me with a guitar and a loop pedal so there’s not going to be much I can do.
“I’m not going to short-change fans as well… if you come to see a show it should be the show you paid to see.”
