Love/Hate's Dean feared being crushed to death in boot – but unable to even scream

Love/Hate star Ian Lloyd Anderson has told how he feared his head being crushed while filming in a boot – and no-one noticing.

The RTE actor – who plays Dean – was bundled into a boot by Nidge and his chronies on last week’s episode.

But Ian said he feared the crew would crush him and they wouldn’t notice – because he was already covered with blood and gagged.

Fears: Ian was trapped in boot for hours | RTE

He said: “I was in the boot for quite a while. It’s horrible being stuck in the boot of a car, even when it’s closed.

“You know you’re safe, but we were up there for a good few hours shooting that scene. It’s not very comfortable.

“My big fear when the lads were shutting the boot, that part of the boot would come down and squash my head. But no-one would have noticed, because I was covered in blood anyway.”

And Ian revealed he’s finding the new fame from Love/Hate to be “total madness” – even being called a rat while buying oranges.

Madness: Ian finding it hard to deal with fame of Love/Hate | RTE

“I went into a shop and I was buying oranges this week. I am still getting used to people looking at me funny,” he told 2FM.

“And the woman behind the till went, ‘Here’s your change love, your dirty little rat’. What do you say? She laughed and stuff after, but it’s mad.

“Even on Twitter this week people were calling me a rat this week. I don’t know how to feel about it. It’s crazy. It’s total madness.

“I keep getting this thing on Twitter as well this week – people keep asking me if I’m Damien Dempsey’s brother. It’s strange.”
