John Bishop has admitted that if he hadn’t married his wife Melanie Bishop, he would have married an Irish women.
The comedian has been married to his wife for 23 years and they have three children with her – Daniel, Luke and Joe Bishop.
“If I hadn’t had married her, I think I would’ve married an Irish woman,” he said.

The 49-year-old revealed that he thinks men in Ireland are punching above their weight.
“I was saying it today, and I’m not being disrespectful to the men in Ireland, but Jesus, you’re all punching above your weight,” he told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.
“The other thing as well, because I married someone who’s an only child, it’s not the same. If I married an Irish girl, there’s a chance you’d have six brothers – and I like the idea of that. Because you know one of the brothers is going to be an idiot.
“So whatever you’ve ever done, you’ve always got to go, ‘I know I’ve done that wrong, but your Patrick wet himself. If there’s an idiot brother, you’ve always got a chance.”
