Ed Sheeran is set to appear on The Late Late Show tomorrow night.

The ‘Perfect’ singer will be performing his version of the Christmas classic by The Pogues ‘Fairytale of New York’.

Ed has collaborated with Irish trad band Beoga and singer Anne-Marie, who performs the late Kirsty MacColl’s role in the song.

The only change to the song that Sheeran has made is changing the lyrics slightly in one line to a less controversial alternative by singing, “you cheap lousy blaggard.”

Sheeran performed the rendition of the song live when he visited the BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge this week.

He said, “It’s a cover that you shouldn’t really touch…I’m going to get murdered for doing this.”

It will be available to download just in time for Christmas.

Shane MacGowan wrote the classic with Jem Finer, and the pair reputedly earn an estimated €500,000 in royalties each year on the Christmas anthem.
