Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov ends in massive brawl at UFC 229

The fight was definitely personal

Conor McGregor was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in four rounds at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas early this morning, but it’s what happened afterward that has everyone talking.

After tapping out making Khabib the undisputed Lightweight champion, the Russian fighter jumped into the crowd to attack Conor’s teammate Dillon Danis.

The brawl resulted in chaos, and in the midst of the madness, members of Khabib’s team jumped inside the Octagon to attack an unsuspecting Conor.

Khabib and his team’s behaviour has caused serious controversy, and commentators noted that the Russian fighter has destroyed his reputation.

After officials stepped in, Conor and his team were escorted out of the arena.

Then, UFC boss Dana White refused to hand Khabib his belt inside the Octagon, and the lightweight champion was escorted out.

In a post-fight interview, Dana revealed that three of Khabib’s teammates have been arrested and are “on their way to jail”, and warned that there will be serious repercussions for Khabib.

Commentators have expressed their worry following Khabib’s sudden attack, as it’s sure to rile Russian and Irish fans in Las Vegas, and result in an extremely hostile press conference.
