Shane Lowry has opened up on tying the knot to his long-term love Wendy Honner.
The pair exchanged their vows in a quiet ceremony at City Hall in New York City, which according to Shane involved “no surprises” as Wendy “doesn’t like the limelight.”
 “Anyone who knows Wendy knows that she doesn’t like the limelight or anything like that,” he told the Irish Independent.

The newlyweds met on a “random night out” four years ago, and have been inseparable ever since with Shane proposing to Wendy in Dubai back in 2014.
Explaining the choice to wed in the Big Apple, Shane revealed that if they got married in Ireland, they would have ended up inviting “everybody” – so they chose to have just close family at the ceremony.
“As long as we knew our families were happy, we were going to go ahead with it.

Wendy wore a British designer gown by Stephanie Allin, which was pictured in stunning professional photos on Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park.
“It was really all very chilled.
“We woke up the next morning and were totally happy at what we were after doing. It was perfect for the two of us,” he added.
Shane was in Dublin to launch the One For Ireland campaign to fight against homelessness alongside TV presenter Jenny Buckley. The initiative asks people to donate €1 for homeless charities this Friday.
