Prince Harry referenced Meghan Markle and their unborn baby during the opening ceremony speech at the Invictus Games.
The royal rehearsed his speech on the stage on front of just Meghan, prior to the launch of the games today.
When the time came for the 34-year-old to speak on front of the thousands of people in attendance at the opening ceremony, he couldn’t help but mention the bundle of joy him and Meghan are expecting.

“First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days. I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all,” he told the crowd.
“We also genuinely couldn’t think of a better place to announce the, er, upcoming baby..whether it’s a boy or a girl,” he continued, as he looked over at his wife.
The Invictus Games not only hold a special place in the royals’ hearts as it was created by Prince Harry, but is also sentimental to the couple as they made their first public appearance together at the games in Toronto last year.

The couple announced Meghan’s pregnancy news last weekend and were given their official first baby present of a kangaroo teddy and Ugg boots on Monday by the Governor General, Peter Cosgrove, and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove.
