King Charles returns to work for the first time since his Cancer diagnosis

King Charles has returned to work for the first time since his Cancer diagnosis.

Buckingham Palace announced that the King had been diagnosed with an unnamed form of cancer back in February, and had started treatment.

The King and Queen of England visited a cancer treatment centre in London on Tuesday to meet with medical specialists and patients.

The King held hands with cancer patients in the Macmillan Cancer Centre during his first outing since his own diagnosis.

The royals also gifted presents to children on their way out – and received some flowers from them in return.

When asked how he was feeling by Sky News, the King replied: “Much better, thanks.”

On Friday, the Palace said he was “greatly encouraged” to be given the go-ahead to return to some public-facing duties.

Last week, King Charles’ nephew Peter Phillips revealed that he had been feeling “frustrated” amid his battle with cancer.

During a new interview with Sky News Australia, the son of Princess Anne shared: “He’s in good spirits. I think, ultimately, he’s hugely frustrated.”

He’s frustrated that he can’t get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he’s very pragmatic.

“He understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself.”

The King’s nephew, 46, continued: “But, at the same time, he is always pushing his staff and everybody and his doctors and nurses, to be able to say, ‘Actually, can I do this, can I do that?’”

“I think the overriding message would be that he’s obviously very keen to get back to a former normality and he’s probably frustrated that recovery is taking a little longer than probably he would want it to.”
