Michael Fassbender has admitted that he’s taking a “long break” from acting.
The Kerry native has starred in the huge blockbuster X-Men films and his most recent film Assassin’s Creed hits cinemas this month.
“I’m going to take some downtime now,” he said.

The 39-year-old explained that he has been a workaholic over the last five years going film to film.
“It’s been pretty full on. I had a ferocious appetite and energy for it, and I went at it like a maniac,” he told Time Out.
“But I’m going to take some downtime now. The last five years, I was verging on being a workaholic. I’ve just been going from film to film.”

However, Michael revealed that he isn’t quitting acting – but he does think there’s a stage in an actor’s career when it goes “downhill.”
“I’m not ruling it out. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but a part of me thinks you have a time as an actor when you’re at your best.
“There’s a journey to it, and then it’s downhill,” he added.
