There’s been another surprising split in the land of celebrity.
Nelly Furtado revealed on Wednesday that she secretly separated from her husband almost one year ago.
“I am single now,” the singer said during an appearance on Loose Women in the UK. “Someone here needs to update my Wikipedia — it’s not helping my dating life!”

Nelly had been married to sound engineer Demacio Castellon for eight years, and although she didn’t share much about the breakup, she said it happened last summer.
“I went through an emotionally difficult time last summer and I actually wrote and sung myself songs to get through it,” she shared.
“I would sing to myself while I drove on these long drives and I thought to myself, ‘I’m so lucky that I can write songs because I can soothe myself with them.'”
Nelly shares 13-year-old daughter Nevis with ex-boyfriend Jasper Gahunia, and said it’s important for her to spend time out of the spotlight and stay grounded.
“Sometimes you just want to sit home and bake some muffins for your daughter,” she explained. “I need to stay mentally and emotionally and physically well for my daughter.”
Nelly has been busy promoting her sixth album The Ride, which was released on March 31st.
