Saoirse Ronan was honoured with the New Hollywood Award last night at the 19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards.
The Irish beauty was presented the award by none other than Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling.
Presenting the award, Ryan joked in his speech that she is “hardly new to Hollywood” as she is only 21-years-old and “she’s already done close to that many films.”

The Carlow native starred in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River last year, and he gushed that she is “not only one of my favourite actresses, but one of my favourite people.”
Ryan also made sure to teach everyone in attendance at the awards how to pronounce her Irish name.
“It’s not Say-or-see or Seer-say or Sor-cery but it probably should be…it’s Ser-sha, like inertia,” he joked.
