One X factor contestant is reportedly getting “100 calls a day” from a ‘stalker.’
Gio Spano has been dealing with an alleged stalker for months, but the situation has reportedly been getting worse since he appeared on the popular television show.
According to The Mirror, the singer is getting “100 calls a day” from a middle-aged woman.
Bosses of the programme have reportedly alerted security about the woman and told them to keep an eye out for her.
“Security at the house are aware of his superfan. The contestants do get some fans knocking on the door, so security are always at the house,” a source revealed.
“Gio has played it down as he believes she is harmless, he’s one of the nicest guys and didn’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings so he hasn’t taken it in further.”
Some of the West End star’s friends have, however, expressed their worry regarding the woman, as the source revealed: “People close to Gio have warned him that getting up to 100 calls a day from somebody he doesn’t know isn’t normal.”
Gio has started to become slightly concerned about his alleged stalker though, as it was reported that he thinks he occasionally sees the woman in the X Factor audience.
“He’s expressed to friends that sometimes he does feel slightly unnerved – particularly as this person sits in the same seat every night to watch him.”
According to the publication, Gio has a number of superfans though, as one even got a huge tattoo of the singer on her leg.
