Winter version of Love Island set to be replaced by brand new All Stars series

The winter version of Love Island is set to be replaced by a brand new All Stars series.

According to MailOnline, the long-rumoured spin-off show will air in early 2024, and will feature former Love Island contestants from the UK, US, and Australia.

A source revealed: “The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren’t interested in watching the show twice a year.”

“It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.

“In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by.”

Just like the winter series, Love Island All Stars will be filmed in South Africa, and producers are already recruiting former Islanders who are currently single.

Megan Barton-Hanson and Georgia Steel, who appeared on the 2018 series, have already been linked to the lineup.

During a recent interview with Goss.ie, Maura Higgins confirmed she was asked to appear on the new series – but turned it down.

The 32-year-old told us: “I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no. I’ve been asked, but I’ve said no.”

“I just think, I’ve done it once, I’ve had my time on Love Island. I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future.”

When contacted for a comment, a Love Island spokesperson said: “Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024.”

The final of Love Island’s 2023 summer series will take place on Monday night, with Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki hotly tipped to win the show.

They’ll go up against Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde; Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble; and Sammy Root and Jess Harding.
