‘Vulnerable’ Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu withdrawn from the Celebrity Big Brother final after backlash

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been withdrawn from appearing on the Celebrity Big Brother final.

According to the MailOnline, the 29-year-old has been struggling to cope with the backlash she’s received since she was voted off the show last Friday.

A source said: “It’s been a bit of a tough couple of weeks for Ekin-Su.”

“She could have played the sob story card but has remained tight-lipped publicly and expressed to those around that she’s aware she must be accountable for a few things that have happened.

“Understandably she is feeling vulnerable, but is using this time to gather her thoughts, and figure out next steps, which is why her management believes withdrawing her from the final is the most sensible move.

“She has asked the team for some time to reflect which everybody is on board with.”

Meanwhile, an ITV source said: “Ekin has been a part of some of ITV’s biggest shows over the last two years, including Love Island, Dancing on Ice, her own spin off show with Davide, and now Celebrity Big Brother.

“As such a lot of the team there feel very protective towards her, and it’s a real shame she won’t be at the final.”

The news comes just days after Big Brother’s spin-off show Late & Live was hit by hundreds of Ofcom complaints following Ekin’s appearance on the programme.

Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best were slammed over their treatment of the star, sparking 139 complaints.

Will poked fun at the Love Island star by calling her “Ekin Boo Hoo Hoo”, while AJ challenged Ekin’s claims she was poorly edited.

AJ said: “It’s interesting as you’ve literally just walked out of the house, you can’t have seen what’s been shown and what’s been said.

“But I can assure you that everything that has been seen and has been shown, has been said by you!”

According to insiders, Ekin regrets signing up for the series so soon after her breakup from Davide Sanclimenti.

A source said: “Ekin-Su, in hindsight, feels the decision to enter the house after a very public separation, was perhaps not the right decision, as she carried a lot of raw emotion and unresolved feelings into the house.

“But she knows where she went wrong and will acknowledge things when she’s able to.”

The insider added: “She’s set to acknowledge her absence from the final ahead of Friday with her fans, but for now management are trying to limit how much she’s online.”

The Celebrity Big Brother final takes place on Friday, with finalists including Bradley Riches, Colson Smith, Fern Britton, Louis Walsh, Nikita Kuzmin and David Potts.
