Two popular soap stars join I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson and EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt have joined I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The soap stars’ arrival was teased at the end of Wednesday night’s episode of the ITV show, and they are set to arrive at Gwrych Castle in Wales on tonight’s show.

Simon, who has played Steve McDonald in Corrie since 1989, said he looks forward to people seeing “a different side” to him.

Simon said he had decided to accept the invitation to be in the latest series of I’m a Celeb due to pressure from his children – who are big fans of the show.

He explained: “They were just like ‘come on dad, we’d love it’. So, I just said ‘ok anything for you guys’.”

“(They) are like ‘absolutely do not say ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ and make sure you at least get as far as possible otherwise it’s going to be a huge pile-on when I get home. They’re getting big now so it would probably hurt.”

“I’m pretty calm at the moment but I’m sure all that will change. Best not to think about it at all until the moment you’re doing it… what’s the point in worrying twice. Let’s just wait until you get there, take a deep breath and see how you get on with it.”

Simon will enter the camp alongside Adam – who has played Ian Beale in EastEnders since its first episode in 1985.

The actors will face a Bushtucker Trial upon their arrival.

Saturdays star Frankie Bridge, presenter Richard Madeley, broadcaster and ex BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin, music producer Naughty Boy, Olympic gold medalist Matty Lee, Paralympic gold medalist Kadeena Cox MBE, football legend David Ginola, choreographer Dame Arlene Phillips, Radio 1Xtra DJ Snoochie Shy and Emmerdale star Danny Miller are also on this year’s show.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One and ITV.
