Tributes pour in for Strictly Come Dancing professional who passed away

Tributes have flooded in for Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor who sadly passed away at the age of 44.

The dancer’s death was announced on Tuesday morning by Burn The Floor on Facebook, with the international Ballroom & Latin dance company telling fans: “The Burn the Floor family has lost one of its founding members, Robin ‘Bobby’ Windsor – who has tragically passed away.”

“A BTF journeyman he danced with us for twenty years – including Broadway, The West End and all our crazy adventures around the world.”

“His stunning image attached with Jessica Raffa defined our company, colourful, extreme and sensual.”

“His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation. He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever.”

Among those who paid tribute was his 2012 Strictly partner Lisa Riley and show judge Craig Revel Horwood, who penned: “I have just heard the tragic news my dear friend ’Bobby’ Robin Windsor has passed.”

“He was one of the kindest, gentle, honest, funny and caring people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with. He will be forever missed.”

“My heart goes out to all his family & friends. RIP darling man, you were truly loved x”

Lisa who was paired up with Robin on the show, took to Instagram and shared a sweet tribute to the late star.

She wrote: “💔💔💔My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel…….now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart……my very broken heart, I love you, shine your beautiful, electric energy from heaven. 💔💔💔 SHINE IN PEACE 💔💔💔”

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid got emotional on air this morning as she announced the news.

She said: “We have some very sad news to break. A much loved member of the Strictly Come Dancing family… I’m sorry I’m not going to be able to read this Ed because I danced with… it’s about Robin Windsor.”

The presenter who danced with Robin for Strictly Children In Need, described him as “larger than life”.

She continued: “I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then. He was a remarkable dancer, incredible strong, so creative. He was just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him.”

“He was the most incredible personality and as soon as I danced with him, there was something very special about him.”

X Factor star Marcus Collins dated the Ballroom and Latin professional for 18 months before ending their romance in 2015.

The 35-year-old took to his Instagram to express his condolences: “The World just got a lot less sparkly. Robin You were so loved.”

Strictly professional Graziano Di Prima also took to his Instagram to pay tribute to the star.

He wrote: “Still can’t believe it. One of the nicest people I ever met.”

“Robin 💔💔💔 RIP big man 😪”
