Strictly Come Dancing favourite Michelle Visage has hit back at claims she’s a trained dancer.

Rumours were rife that the 51-year-old had an unfair advantage in the competition, because she was in a girl band called Seduction from 1988 to 1991.

Speaking to The Sun Online, the RuPaul’s Drag Race star said: “I am not a former dancer! I was in a girl group in 1989, so I don’t want anyone to think I have dance training.”

“I am very rusty. But I love to dance and I love to learn, and I am very excited to be doing Strictly.”

During her stint on Strictly, Michelle is opening herself up to be criticised on social media – but she isn’t too bothered about it.

She said: “I am in my fifties and I have been in this business since my 20s, so nothing anyone says on twitter is going to affect me.

“But when I was younger, it would have ripped me apart. I am so glad social media wasn’t around when I was starting out.”

Michelle is paired up with pro dancer Giovanni Pernice, and has been scoring high on the leaderboard so far.
