Strictly Come Dancing pay tribute to Caroline Flack during Christmas special

Strictly Come Dancing have paid tribute to Caroline Flack during their Christmas special.

The late presenter won the popular dance show back in 2014 with professional partner Pasha Kovalev, with one of their performances being celebrated as one of the best moments in the history of the show.

Caroline’s moving performance of ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams was listed as the eighth most memorable moment on the festive special, with former Strictly judge Alesha Dixon recalling the “beautiful” dance.

She said: “What was so beautiful about Caroline and Pasha’s show dance is she was her authentic self within the dance, you could see her heart, you could see her passion.”

Craig Revel Horwood said: “It was the first time, I think, a contemporary dance was done in a beautiful and imaginative way.

“This dance made the countdown because its beautiful and it showed Caroline at her very best, beautiful technique and beautifully danced.”

Caroline’s former dance partner Pasha explained: “In the dance Caroline managed to show her real emotions, and I think that’s the key, why the audience could connect to it and feel exactly what was going on in the dance.

“The final dance was beautiful, I think at that point she really believed she is a dancer.”

Following the emotional tribute, fans took to Twitter to remember the star, who sadly took her own life on February 14 this year.

One viewer tweeted: “Just watched the Strictly Christmas Special and ended up sobbing watching #CarolineFlack dancing to Angels by Robbie Williams. It was so beautiful.”

A second wrote: “Literally gets me every time should be no.1 on the countdown! Beautiful person, who’ll be missed always.”
