Piers Morgan’s son publicly slams his father over ‘misinformed tweet’ about Sam Thompson

Piers Morgan’s son, Spencer has publicly slammed his father over “misinformed tweet” about I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! winner, Sam Thompson.

This comes after the host slammed the 31-year-old as an “irritating reality TV halfwit,” in a tweet about the latest series of the show.

The Made In Chelsea star was recently crowned King of the jungle on Sunday night’s final.

Taking to X, Piers wrote: Congrats to Nigel Farage on losing a public vote for the 7th time, this time to an irritating reality TV halfwit in the lowest rated series of I’m A Celebrity.”

“And for ending up engulfed with snakes, an appropriate final humiliation for the biggest snake in Britain.”

His son has now come to Sam’s defense and wrote over his father’s tweet: “Sam is a really nice and very switched on guy. Would like to apologise on dad’s behalf for this misinformed tweet.”

Spencer’s response prompted the 58-year-old to apologise to the I’m A Celeb winner.

Piers then wrote: “UPDATE: My eldest son @spencermorgan93 knows @SamThompsonUK well and says he’s definitely not a halfwit, and is a really genuine down-to-earth guy who speaks highly of me.”

“Apologies, Sam, I clearly misjudged you.”

ITV has since released the official voting figures for the final, which saw Nigel Farage finish in third place.

Sam claimed almost 60% of the vote that crowned him the King of the Jungle.

Politician Nigel Farage came in third place, while boxer Tony Bellew finished in second.

According to the figures, Sam claimed 56.64% of the final vote, while Tony had 43.36%.

A fan favourite since the show returned last month, Sam won wide praise during his time on I’m A Celeb.
