Perrie Edwards has admitted that she is in no rush to get engaged to her boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Little Mix star, who was previously engaged to Zayn Malik, revealed that she is “not ready” to tie the knot with the Liverpool football player.
“We always talk about the future. He’s my forever, but I don’t think we are ready to get engaged any time soon,” she told Metro’s Guilty Pleasures.
The 27-year-old admitted that “the pressure was on” to take the next step, after Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s recent engagement to her fiance Andre Gray.
“Everyone keeps saying that! Everyone keeps saying ‘the pressure’s on!’ and I think that because Andre did such an amazing job,” she told Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast.
“But we’re not ready for that yet, we’re letting them two enjoy it,” she confirmed.
“I feel like I’m really enjoying this [lockdown], I can’t lie. I’m having the time of my life! I’ve never spent so much time with my boyfriend, I’ve never spent so much time in my house,” she recently told KIIS FM.
Perrie and Alex began dating in 2016 – one year after her ex-fiancé Zayn ended their two-year engagement by text.
“It was horrible, the worst time in my life,” Perrie wrote in Little Mix’s Our World book, “A four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.”
“The girls were amazing, we’d have sleepovers and they’d get my favourite desserts and do everything they could to cheer me up.”
“I surrounded myself with friends and family… I didn’t want to be alone because when I was I’d start thinking about things and get upset,” she added.
