Love Island star Wes Nelson lands record deal with Universal

The 22-year-old showed off his vocal skills on last year's celebrity version of The X Factor

Wes Nelson has signed a major record deal, as he takes the next step in pursuing a career in music.

The Love Island star showed off his vocal talents on last year’s The X Factor: Celebrity, as he joined a supergroup called No Love Lost with fellow Islanders Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty and Zara McDermott.

Following his success on the show, Wes has announced that he’s been signed by Universal Music Group.

“I am the happiest man on the planet! I have just signed my first record deal with @universalmusicgroup @emirecords ????????????,” he wrote.

“Anyone who knows me knows this is my biggest dream and I’m so f***ing proud.”

Wes thanked his management and the record label for the opportunity, adding: “I’ve got a great team around me, this is just the start.”

“The debut single is on the way ????????????Love!”

Universal also represent the likes of Sam Smith, Drake, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

Love Island stars rushed to the comment section to congratulate Wes on his announcement.
