Love Island star Catherine Agbaje reportedly wants Scott van-der-Sluis back.
The pair had been coupled up prior to Casa Amor; however, the footballer’s feelings towards her were questioned by their fellow Islanders.
During Casa Amor, Catherine struck up a romance with bombshell Elom Ahlijah-Wilson, and brought him back to the main villa – ending things between her and Scott.
A friend of Catherine’s told The UK Sun: “She wants to go on a date with Scott and see if they can rekindle things.”
“She realises she made a big mistake cutting things off too soon, but she’d love another chance to explore if there is something genuinely there in the outside world.”
The source explained that the Dubliner hasn’t reached out to her former beau yet, as “she’s waiting to see what he is going to say to Maya Jama on Aftersun on Sunday night first.”
“She isn’t sure how he really feels and she is worried he may completely shut down any chance of seeing her again on live TV, so she is protecting herself by taking a wait-and-see approach.”
“If he badmouths her, or goes on any podcasts in the coming days and slates their relationship, then she’ll have her answer,” Catherine’s pal continued.
She hopes, however, that he will be open to giving things a go and taking it slowly.”
Earlier this week, it was reported that Catherine and Elom had “secretly split”, just days after leaving the villa.
A source told the publication: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.”
“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.”
“Catherine’s sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it’s no surprise she cooled things off straight away.”
It came after Catherine expressed her wish to have a “catch up” with Scott, after he had been dumped from the villa.
During an Instagram Q&A, the Dublin native was asked: “Can we get a Cat and Scott reunion?”
The Love Island star responded: “Obviously I am getting a lot of these questions, but yes of course there will be a reunion. A catch up is needed!”
Scott was dumped from the Love Island villa alongside Abi Moores on Wednesday night.
During his exit interview with ITV, Scott revealed where he stands with Catherine.
The former Shelbourne F.C. goalkeeper admitted: “I didn’t think I told Catherine enough before Casa Amor about how I was feeling.”
“At the same time I stayed loyal when I had the opportunity to go elsewhere. It wasn’t as if I went into Casa Amor and no-one liked me – I spoke to Gabby a bit but chose to stay loyal to Catherine.”
“She didn’t do the same thing but hopefully it works out for her,” Scott continued. “Once the situation is put to bed for me, it’s done and there is no going back.”
“So many thoughts were going through my mind at the time, I didn’t know what I’d be surprised at and what I wouldn’t.”
“In the back of my mind, I wanted to try and prepare for it and then it obviously happened. I got over the situation pretty quickly so I wasn’t down about it.”
