Love Island 2021 contestant Sharon Gaffka reveals unlikely link to Molly-Mae Hague

Sharon Gaffka is among the eleven confirmed singletons heading into the Love Island villa this summer.

The 25-year-old law graduate won the Miss International UK beauty pageant in 2018, and has gone on to work in government departments as a civil servant.

During her introductory Q&A session ahead of the return of the hit dating show next Monday, 28 June, Sharon revealed her unlikely link to former Islander Molly-Mae Hague.

When asked if she knew any of the former Love Islander stars, Sharon explained: “I used to do pageants. Molly-Mae and I had the same pageant director.”

“I was Miss International UK,” she added.

Describing what she’s looking for in a partner, Sharon said: “I have this thing where if something doesn’t work out with one person, I’ll try and go for the other extreme to see if that works out.”

“I tend to date someone who is taller than me, even though my last long-term partner, he was actually someone who was shorter than me. I’m quite an intellectual person so I want someone who can kind of match that.”

Love Island is making a comeback this summer, after it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The series will kick off on June 28, after all contestants are quarantined and tested for Covid-19 before entering the villa.

Love Island will be filmed at its usual location in Mallorca, for a period of eight weeks.

Laura Whitmore is returning as host, alongside her husband Iain Stirling – who is the show’s voiceover artist.
