Little Mix’s latest single fuels rumours they’re set to split

Little Mix’s latest single has fuelled rumours they’re set to split.

Their new song, Between Us, was released today from their upcoming album – which will reflect on their decade in the music industry.

The lyrics of the song include: “When the curtains close and all of the lights go down, safe to say I’ll stay, I will always stick around.”

Leigh-Anne sings: “Remember the day when we finally found our wings? It changed our lives, gave us power to do anything… damn we got history and all these sweet melodies.”

The song also appears to address their former bandmate Jesy Nelson, who left the band in December 2020.

Recently there have been reports of a feud between Jesy and the band, following backlash over her debut solo single.

The band sing: “We shared every misery, lived every victory, yeah we got synergy, if they hurt you they’re hurting me.”

Following the song’s release, fans took to Twitter to point out that the lyrics make it sound like the band’s last single, amid rumours they’re set to split.

One fan said: “Between us is their last single.”

Another fan tweeted: “Trying to be optimistic and hoping #BetweenUs is just a goodbye to the last 10 years and hello to the new chapter and not goodbye forever.. @LittleMix.”

Last month, The Sun reported that Little Mix would formally announce their split in mid-November, ahead of their 2022 Confetti tour.

A source told the publication: “There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Little Mix but it is now very clear that the end of the road has been reached.”

“A date is set to announce the split. The upcoming tour is going to be a farewell to their fans.”

Another source told the publication that while the girls still get on great, they are lining up some solo projects to focus on after their tour.

The insider explained: “Leigh-Anne has signed up with Dua Lipa’s manager, Jade is cutting her teeth as a songwriter and presenter, while Perrie is working on other things too.”

“They all know there will have to be a career beyond Little Mix, so they’ve put things in place. The plan is to see out commitments, then turn to solo projects almost immediately.”

The popular girl band will release their seventh studio album, Between Us, in November – which will include re-recordings of some of their greatest hits.
