Emily Blunt shuts down rumours she is the unnamed co-star who shouted at Rebecca Ferguson

Emily Blunt has shut down rumours that she is the unnamed co-star who shouted at Rebecca Ferguson.

In a recent interview, the actress claimed that an “absolute idiot of a co-star” made her cry whilst on set.

The 40-year-old denied that the person in question was Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, who she acted alongside in The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible- but made no mention of Emily.

The two women worked on the 2016 film The Girl On The Train and fans were sent into a frenzy trying to piece the puzzle together.

Speaking on Josh Smith’s podcast Reign, Rebecca said: “I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out,”

“I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at.”

The actress recalled how her bully co-star was “number 1” on set and therefore producers did not stand up for her.

Rebecca continued: “Because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.”

The 40-year-old recalled how her fellow actor would say: “You call yourself an actor?”, “This is what I have to work with?”, and “What the f**k is this?” in front of the staff and crew.

“I stood there just breaking,” she said.

Upon confronting the director on why this behaviour was allowed to continue, she added: “The director said, ‘You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person. Because it’s so unstable.'”

“It was great from that moment, but it took so long for me to get to that. It’s within my last 10 or 12 years and I’ve acted since I was 16.”

However, a spokesperson for the Oppenheimer star has defended her honour and told the Daily Mail: “Rebecca and Emily are friends and there’s nothing but love between them.”

Dwayne Johnson who worked with Rebecca on the set of Hercules, praised the actress for “standing up to bullsh**t.”

The 51-year-old took to X to show his support writing: “Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bulls**t. Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.”
