Coleen Rooney has revealed that she used her husband Wayne’s secret vasectomy to expose Rebekah Vardy as the person who was leaking her stories about her to the press.
Back in October 2019, the 37-year-old posted a statement on social media claiming she had planted false information on her private Instagram page and blocked everyone from her story – except Rebekah’s account.
Coleen said stories about her basement flooding, returning to TV, and gender selection were only viewed by Rebekah’s account – and the false stories all made it into the press.
The mother-of-four believed this was proof that her fellow WAG allegedly sold stories about her private life, but Rebekah vehemently denied her claims.
Their lengthy legal battle concluded with a seven-day trial at London’s High Court in May 2022, and saw Coleen emerge victorious.
In her new Disney+ docuseries Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, Coleen explained that she had posted on her private story – which only had Rebekah on it – that she and Wayne were hoping to try for another baby girl.
The story she planted claimed she and her footballer husband were planning on travelling to Mexico to look into “baby gender selection”.
However, Coleen explained that the story was completely false as Wayne “got the snip” after the birth of their fourth child.
She said: “I’d heard about this procedure where you could choose the gender of your children but it’s something I’d never considered doing so I came up with this idea about doing a story.”
In a preview of her documentary, which is released today, Coleen said that no one knew of her husband’s vasectomy and so the story was the perfect trap.
Coleen and Wayne are parents to Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, 7, and Cass, 5.
