Cheryl got irritated, when her 2003 assault conviction was brought up in an interview this week.

Fifteen years ago, the singer was accused of racially aggravated assault after getting into an altercation with nightclub toilet attendant, Sophie Amogbokpa.

The former Girls Aloud star was eventually cleared of the racially aggravated assault charge, but was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm – and was sentenced to 120 hours of community service.

Just last year, the assault case was brought back up when model Munroe Bergdorf was dropped by L’Oreal for claiming “all white people” are racist in a post criticising white privilege.

At the time, Munroe said, “I shouldn’t be sacked for calling out racism when I was in a campaign that was meant to be championing diversity.”

“Especially when I was speaking about the violence of white people, but they’ve got Cheryl Cole on the campaign and she was actively convicted for punching a black woman in the face.”

In a new interview with The Guardian this week, Cheryl was asked about Munroe’s comments, and the singer didn’t take it well.

The 35-year-old branded the story as “irrelevant”, “boring” and “not news”, before adding, “I don’t understand why you’d even bring it up.”

When asked if she’s really surprised that people still mention it, Cheryl, replied, “I don’t think they do!”

In her interview, the mother-of-one also addressed Lily Allen’s attempt to quash their feud in her new autobiography My Thoughts Exactly.

She said, “Honestly, she’s quite fascinating to me. She’s ballsy, and outspoken, and says what she thinks regardless of what people think of her.”

“To be a woman in the industry and do that takes some balls. I like that about her. Nobody wants a wallflower, do they?”

Cheryl is set to perform her comeback single, Love Made Me Do It, on The X Factor this Sunday.
