Ben Foden’s former lover warned his new wife that he’s “a real piece of s**t”, after finding out about their whirlwind wedding.
The rugby player, who split from Irish singer Una Healy last year, married New York native Jackie Belanoff Smith over the weekend after just “two weeks” of dating.
But after they tied the knot, Jackie’s father claimed that the pair actually met at the start of the summer – and have been dating for longer than two weeks.
After finding out about Ben’s new wife on Instagram, Ben’s ex-lover sent screenshots of their message exchanges to Jackie.
She told Jackie: “Sorry to do this! I don’t know you, but I think you need to know what type of man you just married. I’m sure I won’t be the only girl he’s been involved with either… I can’t believe he carries on like this, then gets married, it’s insane! It’s been less than two weeks since he was messaging me.”
“It’s so unfair on you. I think he’s a real piece of s**t if I’m honest. I feel like I’m saying too much here but I think he’s a real bad egg. I’m really sorry to say these things, it isn’t my place, but it’s so uncomfortable to watch.”
But Jackie didn’t seem too bothered by the messages, as she replied: “I know ppl [sic] won’t really understand. We were both kinda being idiots up until a few weeks ago when something just kinda clicked in both our heads and our hearts. I appreciate you looking out and hopefully you guys can still have a friendship.”
After she messaged Jackie, the woman got a text from Ben telling her to delete his number.
He allegedly told her: “I’d have happily explained myself to you. Sorry if you feel hurt. We have only been seriously dating for two weeks. What can I say, you only live once.”
According to The Sun, the rugby player first contacted the woman in June, and met up with her three days later at a party at Chester Racecourse.
They allegedly spent the night together at a nearby hotel before Ben flew back to the US, where he plays for Rugby United New York.
The pair reportedly stayed in touch and exchanged nude selfies and racy texts, and the woman branded Ben a “dirty bastard”.
Speaking to the newspaper, she said: “How can you be like that with one woman and then literally just weeks later be married to someone else. I think the marriage will last five minutes. I knew he had a reputation but I’m shocked at what he’s done. We slept together before he went to the US. He was very charming but he was quite up himself.”
“I thought it was just a bit of fun and knew we were never going to have a long-term thing. But seeing his gushing post on Instagram made me feel sick. I think his new wife should know who she’s really married to.”
