Ant McPartlin has given his first big interview since taking a break from TV work.
After being causing a three-car pile-up while he was drink driving, Ant stepped down from his presenting roles but is now set for his return.
Speaking to the UK Sun, Ant said his life has completely changed.
“You can’t go through what I’ve been through without being humbled. I would say I’ve definitely been humbled for the better,” he revealed.
“I’ve re-evaluated everything in my life. I’ve took stock of things and said, ‘Right I’ve got to think of me’. For years I thought of many other people. As we all do.
“But we should all step back and say, ‘What’s making me unhappy? What’s not working for me? What can I take out for a bit and take out long-term that will help me a bit?’
Ant also spoke about his new love Anne-Marie, his former PA, who his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong has hit out at.
“She is the most wonderful true woman. And the way we are and when people see us together they’ll see how honest and kind and happy we make each other.”
“We’ve worked together for many years. But something changed. She was single, I was single. We weren’t even looking for anybody else.
“We were going through turmoil. It was the last thing on either of our minds to get into a relationship. But there we were and we were like, ‘This felt so good, why deny it’.”
While Ant has remained quiet on his very public divorce with Lisa, he did say he’s made a point of not commenting on their split to date.
“We don’t speak. We haven’t for a while. It’s still ongoing in terms of the legal situation.
“I purposely, throughout the whole of my divorce, have not said anything publicly,” he added.
“I’ve not been on social media or put any of my personal views out there. It’s not my style.”
