Amber Gill teases plans to make documentary about her coming out story

Amber Gill has teased her plans to make a documentary about her coming out story.

The Newcastle native, who won the 2019 series of Love Island alongside Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea, came out publicly last August, after tweeting about “switching teams”.

In January, the 25-year-old confirmed she was in a new relationship, but did not name her beau.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Amber revealed she wasn’t sure when she began questioning her sexuality.

“I don’t know,” she told the publication. “I’m still figuring that out – whether I did or I didn’t, I just know there was a certain point where I was like, ‘I want to pursue serious relationships with women.'”

“I’m still figuring it all out, so I might do some sort of TV or documentary around that, because I think it is important for someone to have a story of someone coming out late as well.”

Amber revealed her hopes to give others the courage to come out, telling the publication: “That’s another important thing for me. I think coming from a show that I came from, people weren’t expecting it. It’s taken a little while for people to get used to it.”

Amber was first linked to Arsenal player Jen Beattie late last year.

The couple enjoyed a “date night” at London’s Winter Wonderland in December, and they made their romance social media official last month.

Amber and Jen later made their red carpet debut together at Radio 1’s Big Weekend Launch Party.

Amber came out publicly in August last year, after tweeting about “switching teams”.

She told The UK Sun at the time:  “I’m really happy and that’s all you need to know. I’m not ready to tell just yet, you know when you just want to keep things to yourself and then like, it’s real life, then you’ll tell everyone else.”

“Just like normal dating, you’re not going to tell your mum straight away, like that, just taking it slow.”
