TV3 to have MIDWIFE backstage at Toy Show fearing Karen Koster will go into early labour

TV3 bosses have called in a midwife to be on standby backstage at their Toy Show – in case Karen Koster goes into labour.

The Xpose star is hosting the station’s rival to the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night with Brian McFadden.

But TV chiefs fear the excitement of the show could be enough to send the presenter into early labour live on air.

A TV3 spokeswoman said: “With baby Koster due in December we’re not taking any chances!

“TV3 will have a midwife in situ should Karen get overly excited and go into labour early.”

It is the first child for Karen and husband John Maguire, with the star yesterday showing off her massive bump.

If she does go into early labour, Karen will follow in the footsteps of Amy Huberman who went into labour with first child Sadie just hours after attending the IFTAs.

Previously Karen has insisted she isn’t worried about the rivalry with the Late Late Show and Ryan Tubridy.
