TV3 boss Jeff Ford has revealed they’re planning even more drama after the start of Red Rock last night.
The independent station is saving millions in fees by no longer having to shell out to ITV for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
So far, they have plunged some of it into their new police soap Red Rock – but insisted that’s just the start.

He said: “That’s the one thing, by exiting the ITV contract, we do have a lot of money to spend and most of it will be spent on our own productions.
“But the rest will be spent on acquiring shows like Broadchurch. We’re picking up the shows that we think suit us and our audience best.”
TV3 will be showing 160 episodes over the next two years – and vowed they’ll stick by it.

He added: “It is our biggest commission, it’s about €7million. So it’s a huge undertaking.
“But of course the opportunity came to change our schedule and when you have your own soap, your station does grow up a little bit. We’re in it for the long haul with Red Rock.”
