The winners of Love Island’s 2023 summer series are…

Sammy Root and Jess Harding  have been crowned the winners of Love Island’s 2023 summer series.

The pair had a lot of ups and downs during their time in the villa, but their relationship grew stronger in recent weeks – and they even dropped the L-bomb during the final.

They were crowned the winners of the series on Monday night after a public vote, nabbing the £50 cash prize.

Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki came in second place overall, Tyrique Hyde and Ella Thomas came in third place, and Molly Marshall and Zachariah Noble came fourth.

Love Island will return for another season next year but according to reports, the winter series has been axed.

MailOnline have reported that an All-Stars series of the dating show will replace the winter series.

From Lifted Entertainment

A source told the publication: “The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren’t interested in watching the show twice a year.”

“It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.

“In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by.”

Just like the winter series, Love Island All Stars will be filmed in South Africa, and producers are already recruiting former Islanders who are currently single.

Megan Barton-Hanson and Georgia Steel, who appeared on the 2018 series, have already been linked to the lineup.

During a recent interview with Goss.ie, Maura Higgins confirmed she was asked to appear on the new series – but turned it down.

The 32-year-old told us: “I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no. I’ve been asked, but I’ve said no.”

“I just think, I’ve done it once, I’ve had my time on Love Island. I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future.”

When contacted for a comment, a Love Island spokesperson said: “Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024.”
