RTE star Ryan Tubridy has taken a swipe at big-mouthed broadcasters who slam his massive salary.
The Late Late Show and 2FM presenter is the highest paid star at the station – taking home €495,000 a year.
But TV3 stars including Mark Cagney have said you can’t empathise with the audience, previously insisting: “How do you know what it’s like to struggle on half a million a year?”
However Tubs, 42, has hit back at the rival hosts, hinting they could be jealous of what he gets paid.

Asked what he thinks of their complaints, he said: “We can ask the same person if they were offered my job would they take it or turn it down because the money was no issue.”
And Tubridy insisted he doesn’t take their attacks to heart – as he only truly cares what his pals and family think.
“It comes down to the bare essentials of family and friends. They don’t give a monkeys about what happens in Montrosia,” he told the RTE Guide.

“You’re their dad, their pal, their brother or whatever and everything else is secondary.”
It comes after Tubridy admitted he will happily quit RTE and move to the BBC to finally be free from his critics.
