Pete Wicks has explained why his face looked so different during the I’m A Celeb final on Sunday night.
The 35-year-old was there to greet his best friend Sam Thompson after he was crowned King of the Jungle, but viewers couldn’t help but notice Pete’s swollen face.
The former TOWIE star has since told fans that he had a “horrific reaction to mosquito bites.”
Taking to Instagram, Pete told his 1.6m followers: “Also, you’ll all be pleased to know my face has returned to normal following the horrific reaction I had to the mosquito bites. They saw my face and thought it was an all you can eat buffet.”
Viewers who watched the finale took to social media to share their thoughts on Pete’s face – with many convinced he had cosmetic surgery.

Pete, 35, clapped back at the comments on Instagram today by sharing a snap of his face looking back to normal.
The podcast host told fans: “Thankfully my face has returned to normal following the brutal and unprovoked attack by Australian Mosquitos.”
“Thank you all for your support during that difficult time.”
Former Made In Chelsea star, Sam Thompson, was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night after beating retired boxer, Tony Bellew.
Pete was at the end of the bridge to greet Sam after he won the popular reality show, and struggled to stay standing after he leapt into his arms.
The unlikely duo have been close friends since they took part in the reality show, Celebs Go Dating, in 2019.
After being crowned the winner, Sam, 31, told Ant and Dec that he was really overwhelmed by the result.
The former MIC star said: “I’m really overwhelmed. I didn’t think I’d even be invited on the show. I don’t know what to say.”
In an emotional message to those who voted for him, Sam said: “I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of doing this show for year-end years and you’ve made a boy’s dream come true.”
