Mrs Brown's Boys wins the Irish Christmas Day ratings – for the FOURTH year in a row

Mrs Brown’s Boys was the most watched show in Ireland on Christmas Day – for the fourth year running.

Figures reveal that the series, which also was No1 in the UK, had 703,100 viewers in Ireland.

It was followed by Coronation Street which only drew 432,000 to TV3 – a difference of almost 300,000.

The third most watched show was EastEnders, with 399,300 people.

And Fair City was in fourth with 366,100 tuned in to see Claudia Carroll return to Carrigstown and rekindle her romance with Paul.

RTE One and RTE2 delivered 17 of the top 20 shows on Irish Television on Christmas day.

On Christmas Eve the Six-One news was the most watched programme on the day with 387,000 viewers.

Comedy proved particularly popular on the day with the Father Ted’s Christmas Special the third most watched show with 274,000 viewers.

On Stephen’s Day, the Six-One news and Nine-O’Clock news on RTE One both drew in over 389,000 viewers.

And Skyfall was the most popular movie of the day with 329,000 viewers on RTE One.
