Gemma Owen’s ex-boyfriend Jacques O’Neill caused quite a stir when he entered the Love Island villa during Sunday night’s episode.
The rugby player entered the villa as a bombshell, and took Paige and Afia on dates in the garden.
As the girls watched from the terrace, Gemma recognised Jacques’ voice and exclaimed, “Oh my god… that’s my ex-boyfriend.”
Gemma explained that she and Jacques had dated for around eight months, and broke up a year and a half before they entered the villa.
The 19-year-old, who is currently coupled up with Luca Bish, told the girls: “It’s a bit weird, but I don’t feel like I want to get back with him or anything.”
However later in the episode, Gemma confessed she still fancies her former flame.
When asked how she feels about Jacques being in the villa, Gemma said: “I don’t know. It’s weird because I still look at him and I do fancy him like 100%. I look at him and I think, ‘You are fit, no question, you are fit.'”
Hours later, Jacques pulled Gemma for a chat to clear the air – and things got very flirty very fast.
After Jacques said he liked Gemma’s new beau Luca, the 19-year-old replied: “Yeah, you are pretty similar.”
The rugby player then said: “Yeah, that’s probably why you like him, innit?”
After Jacques said he still cared for Gemma and wanted the best for her, the pair wrapped up their conversation.

But as they walked back to the rest of the Islanders, Jacques cheekily asked if it was okay to flirt with her in the villa.
Gemma didn’t say he couldn’t, but said he shouldn’t get his hopes up for a response.
Gemma and Jacques’ interaction has lead many fans to believe they’re going to rekindle their romance in the villa, as they clearly still have feelings for each other.
