ITV have released the first scenes from the highly-anticipated new reality TV show, Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream.
The show will see 14 up and coming hopefuls battle it out to become cast as the new Sophie and Sky in the West End musical adaptation of the hit film Mamma Mia.
Mamma Mia first hit cinemas in 2008 and starred legendary actress Meryl Streep who acted alongside a range of familiar faces including Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried.
The reality show, hosted by Zoe Ball, was filmed on the Greek Island of Corfu over the last 8 weeks.
In a sneak peak shared by ITV, viewers get a glimpse into the skillful talent present on the show.
The young participants perform a high energy choreographed dance and musical number to the hit song Mamma Mia.
“Greece, beautiful island, sun and sea, and the home of the iconic Mamma Mia.”
“We’re here to find out who will become the next iconic Sophie and Sky in the West End.”
“But who has what it takes?,” says host and TV presenter Zoe Ball.
7 boys and 7 girls will aim to impress judges, comedian Alan Carr, singer Jessie Ware, Frozen star Samantha Barks and Glee’s Amber Riley.
Throughout the show they will also have to perform in front of producer and creator Judy Craymer, as the musical marks 25 years on the stage.
The live finale will be broadcast from London in a West End theatre for a dramatic conclusion to the show’s first season.
ITV revealed the hopeful contestants taking place in the series in a selection of Instagram posts on Monday night.
Contestants Desmonda, Esme, Leah, Maddy, Maisie, Stephanie & Stevie; and Callum, Craig, Darcy, Marcellus, Owen, Tobias & Zachkiel will all battle it out from Sunday 22 at 6pm on ITV.
