Ant McPartlin’s final appearance on Britain’s Got Talent aired last night and fans displayed the full spectrum of emotions dealing with his departure.
The episodes airing at the moment are the auditions and were filmed in January. Since they were filmed the TV presenter was arrested for drink driving. He has successfully finished a stint in rehab following his prosecution but won’t be returning to work for a few months at least so he will miss the live shows.
Some fans were crying watching the show, “Sobbin watching Ant McPartlin’s last scene on @BGT hoping he will be back soon!! Love him #BGT #BGT2018” While others wished to see him forgiven for his wrongdoings, So tonight is the last time we’ll see Ant McPartlin on #BGT. I don’t get why Ant cant work & present @BGT with @antanddec Ok he did wrong, went to rehab, which I think was a just a gesture to show ppl he was sorry & tryna sort shit out. He’s not some raging alky is he. I think he wants to but he’s being advised behind the scenes not to imo

His final episode had an average audience of 5.6 million tuned for the latest episode.
It was the most watched show in the UK last night with peak viewership of seven million.
Other fans were quick to point out that the presenter hadn’t died.

One fan went as far as to allege that the star looked drunk on the show, “Not going to lie Ant looked drunk on bgt last night when the last three acts got through. If you watch closely you can see Ant act looking unsteady on his feet #BGT”
The recording would have tied in with the same time period that his marriage to Lisa Armstrong was breaking down.
It is unclear yet when Ant will be returning to his TV work.
