Cillian Murphy has said as much as he loves his role in Peaky Blinders, he feels “destroyed”.
The Cork actor has admitted that playing gangster Thomas Shelby in the hit show can take it’s toll, revealing that it takes weeks for him to recover after he finishes shooting.
“I don’t want to come across like I’m moaning,” he said. “It’s such a gift. I’m just being honest, it just destroys you.”
“It’s just the relentless nature of who he is… I guess because he’s so fundamentally far away from me in every way, it’s such a massive journey to get to and I know when I’m in it, I’m just in it and then it takes a while to just shake it off,” he explained.
