MTV’s Video Music Awards 2020 takes place tonight, and the looks from the event’s red carpet are often the highlight of the ceremony.

Ahead of tonight’s show, we gathered all the information you need to know – including the star-studded line-up, the hosts, and most importantly the nominees.

Let’s take a look at some of the best dressed attendees from last year’s show:

Ahead of her Motivation performance last year – which is up for Best Choreography tonight – Normani stunned on the red carpet in a jaw-dropping sparkly colourful ensemble by Nicolas Jebran .

The designer described the look as “style, uniqueness, retro and glam”, showing off the singer’s stunning physique before she took to the stage.

The Swarovski crystal-covered dress was paired with silver hoops and studded matte red sandals, giving the look a ’90s/early ’00s feel.

Rosalía

For her first ever VMA appearance, Rosalía stunned in an embroidered Burberry black gown – complete with black opera gloves for the ultimate glamorous look.

She paired the dress with silver drop earrings and wore her hair in a high ponytail for an extra chic look.

The singer changed into a Burberry corset and latex knee-high boots for her debut performance on the VMA stage, looking equally as stunning.

Lizzo arrived in a red strapless custom sequined gown by Moschino, adorned with the word “Siren” in silver lettering throughout.

The Good As Hell singer paired the stunning dress with a red and metallic feather boa for extra drama, while her hair was styled in a bouffant.

Lizzo went on to perform her hit tracks Truth Hurts and Good As Hell, which was a highlight of last year’s show.

Camila Cabello wore a gorgeous angelic white Balmain gown, featuring a dramatically long train and daring cut-outs.

The Havana singer had a very successful night, after winning Best Collaboration with her boyfriend Shawn Mendes for their track Señorita.

The couple’s relationship status was only rumoured at this point, but their steamy rendition of the song at the VMAs had fans convinced that they were an item.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift was a technicolour fantasy on the red carpet, wearing a colourful Versace ensemble embellished with tiny crystals all over.

The Folklore singer paired a pink romper with a highly structured blazer, finishing the look with thigh-high black boots.

A red lip, green hoop earring and a collection of colourful rings completed Taylor’s 2019 VMA look.
