Ellie Goulding opens up about designing her wedding dress – and her FIVE outfit changes

Ellie Goulding tied the knot yesterday, in a star-studded ceremony in York Minster Cathedral, York.

The musician surprised fans with her choice of dress, opting for a Victorian style high neckline and simple skirt.

The Starry Eyes singer revealed that she helped to design the dress alongside Chloé’s creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi.

“I was so thrilled and excited to collaborate with Natacha at Chloé on my wedding dress,” the singer said in a statement to Just Jared.

“I have loved the brand and their incredible team for years, so it only seemed right for Chloé to play big part of this special day.”

“Natacha worked alongside me to design something timeless and classic, but with all the Chloé spirit. Natacha is a very talented designer and I have admired her work from day one.”

“I have never felt more special than the moment I first tried on the dress during my fitting in Paris, it was utterly awe-inspiring to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

The dress reportedly took 640 hours to make.

It featured hand stitched embroidered roses, as well as Ellie and now-husband Caspar Jopling’s initials embroidered on the veil.

Ellie revealed to Vogue that she may do up to five different outfit changes for the wedding.

“Ralph & Russo have collaborated on…a bodice of pearls and silk, which I will be wearing with an evening skirt, before switching into a pair of classic white tailored trousers for the reception.”

“I was excited to do something a bit different after the ceremony itself. I have a special Stella McCartney dress for when guests arrive at Castle Howard, and Balmain have also been so generous with their time.”

“Olivier [Rousteing] has made me the most fun dress to dance the night away in.”
