Nicky Byrne has revealed details of his vow renewal with his wife Georgina.
The couple tied the knot back in 2003, and are now parents to three beautiful children – twins Rocco and Jay, and a daughter named Gia.
To mark their 20th wedding anniversary, Nicky and Georgina tied the knot again during a summer party in their home over the weekend.
Speaking to Dave Moore on his brand new Today FM show, Nicky revealed: “We had an end of summer party and the guests that were coming had no idea.”
“We were 20 years married last 9th of August and we wanted to renew the vows and do something fun for the craic, not real soppy soppy.”
“We had a celebrant come over to the house, Aine McKenna, and it was very quick, only 10 minutes. Rocco and Jay are 16 now and Gia is 10 next month, she was flower girl throwing petals down.”
“I was 24 when we got married, which is young nowadays, no one gets married at 24 now these days and really when we were getting married no one was getting married at 24 either!”
“It’s one of those ‘We’re long time together and still very much in love and happily married so why not do it?’”
“It was kind of more for the kids as well, the joy on their faces and the craic on their faces.”
The Westlife star married his longterm love on August 5, 2003 at the Wicklow Register Office.
The couple then jetted off to France for a church blessing at the Roman Catholic Church of St Pierre et St Paul in Gallardon on August 9, before hosting a lavish reception at the 16th-century Château d’Esclimont.
